Kansas City Chiefs Players Holding Three-Day Minicamp
According to Todd Leabo of Sports Radio 810, the Kansas City Chiefs players have announced that they will hold their own three-day minicamp starting today and running through Thursday.
Joel Thorman from over at Arrowhead Pride, has been playing detective over the last 48-hours or so and noticed that a bunch of Chiefs players saying on Twitter that they were on their way to Kansas City. I assumed that this meant they had organized some sort of mass practice and now we have confirmation on that.
The Chiefs are not special in their efforts to get together and practice. Most NFL teams, despite the fact that they are being locked out by their employers, have gathered to practice this offseason. The fact of the matter is that lockout or no lockout, these players are professionals and they want to be ready for the 2011 season that they know is likely to still occur. These guys are all competitors so it is no surprise they are going above and beyond to be ready for work despite a sticky situation. Football is what these guys do.
Still, I’m glad the Chefs seem to be organized. There will be no way to know how much these workouts will help the team this season but unless someone gets injured (knock on wood), they certainly won’t hurt.
What do you think Addicts? Are you glad the Chiefs are practicing?
