The Morning Fix

Being inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame in 2000 is one of the most memorable moments of my life — something I’ll always cherish. I was fortunate to be a two-time Pro Bowler and an NFL rushing champion. The success I had was thanks in large part to my teammates and coaches, who challenged and inspired me to reach my full potential.

“I couldn’t spend money like I wanted to because I had to save,” Charles said of his time at Texas, from 2005 to 2007. “I couldn’t really save because I didn’t have any money. I only had enough to pay for bills and I couldn’t even buy a pair of shoes. Everybody was buying Jordan’s and I couldn’t have any.”

The Hartford Colonials signed former University of Tennessee tight end Jeff Cottam to a contract for the 2011 United Football League season.

Terms were not disclosed. Cottam spent the 2010 preseason with the Cincinnati Bengals after signing as a free agent following the NFL draft. His brother is Kansas City Chiefs tight end Brad Cottam.
