“I think Haley has to recognize that Thomas Jones is a very ordinary player now and that (Jamaal) Charles’ load needs to be managed with a ‘pitch count’ so to speak,” Williamson said. “So insert McCluster more so in that role. It also gets McCluster more touches, which he needs in Year Two. But I still don’t think he is built for more than maybe a handful of carries per game … I would make him a Wes Welker slot guy first and then, maybe, mix in touches. But this league is going more and more to guys, who, more or less, play two positions.”

2. What kinds of things are being auctioned off at the event?

We will be auctioning off all sorts of different items. There will be apparel, gifts baskets, a $100 gift certificate to Mama Mia’s, a helmet signed by Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famers, and many more items up for bid.

“There’s been no ‘Hey Jason, we want you in Philly’ discussions, but it would be hard for me not to contemplate it if he said, ‘Jason, I want you in Philly,’ ” Babin said. “He resurrected me. I’d have to at least give that serious consideration. But Tennessee is where I made a home, my kids go to school there, we live there. So I feel like I’m in a tough position.”

But Babin blossomed under Washburn’s tutelage, recording 12.5 sacks — 7.5 more than his previous career high — and receiving his first Pro Bowl berth.
