NFL Schedule Could Be Coming Tuesday

Update: I reached out to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello in regards to this matter. Aiello says the schedule being released tomorrow night is “not confirmed yet.”

The folks at Pro Football Talk have spotted that TVGuide.com is showing that ESPN2 will air a program called “Sports Center NFL Schedule Release Special.”

I don’t know about you but that seems to be a pretty good indication that the schedule will come out on tomorrow.

This is somewhat surprising given that the schedule was released the Tuesday of the NFL Draft last year. For whatever reason, it appears the NFL has decided to do things a week earlier this year. Perhaps it is their attempt to give a little bonus fans that are growing increasingly irritated with the current NFL lockout.

By releasing the schedule a week before the draft instead of the week of, the NFL will get two weeks of relatively positive NFL vibes instead of just one. I like the move because we will be able to give our full attention to dissecting the Chiefs’ 2011 schedule before the team goes to the podium next Thursday.

If the schedule is indeed going to be released tomorrow you can expect that we’ll have a live chat right here on AA.
