It's impossible that somebody associated with this particular casino has a vested interested the outcome of the new CBA or perhaps owes somebody in ownership a favor, right? After all, NFL owners are such an honest, untainted, fair play and otherwise morally upstanding lot. Let's do a little hypothetical calculus on this. Guys like Vrabel, Manning, and Brady have played prominent roles in trying to resolve the labor dispute but no owner would dare try to deliberately take down Manning or Brady because they are worth too much to ownership. Why not instead just embarrass some boy scout veteran at the end of his career so as to take the fan/media scrutiny and disgust off of the owners by tarnishing a respected player instead? The nature, location and timing of all this seem very suspect to me. I mean come on, I highly doubt Mike Vrabel would have reason, need, or compulsion to steal anything and to my knowledge he has zero priors in this or any other criminal area. This just doesn't add up.
Vrabel's agent is saying it is a big misunderstanding. I am going to give Vrabel the benefit of the doubt until I hear more details. I don't think Mike has been in trouble with the law before. Doesn't seem like he'd just suddenly flip out and break the law...but then again, what do I know?
I'm with you on this one. I can think of lots of things that could have happened here that are pretty minor. Maybe he thought drinks were compt and didn't pay for them. Maybe he picked up his car without paying for the valet. Lots of possiblities here where there could be misunderstandings, and no reason to think Vrabel is some criminal. Horrid timing though.
I'm very curious to see what he was accused of stealing. Getting out on a $600 bail must mean the item(s) in question was/were not overly valuable. At least that's how it seems to me.
Agreed, Pickle. Very interested to see, because apparently Indiana state law makes anything stolen a Class D felony. I'm hoping it's something like a towel from the hotel room in the casino, something trivial that maybe he didn't even notice.
Anyone want to provide a link to the news story? What are the sources here? I'm declaring late April Fool's. No way this is true. Right?
I see that now. I had hoped that something like that wouldn't be true. I do like Andy Studedude better as a starter, but that's not the kind of story I'd like to see at all. I know, obvious statement is obvious.

That. Sucks.
