Chiefs Could Be Interested If Patriots Cut Nick Kaczur

The Boston Herald is reporting that the New England Patriots are expected to cut RT Nick Kaczure after the veteran refused to take a pay cut.

Kaczur had started at RT for the Patriots for five years but missed all of last season while dealing with back and shoulder injuries. The Patriots obviously did alright without Kaczur last season and according to the Herald, the team asked the RT to take a pay cut. Kaczur reportedly declined.

If Kaczure does indeed get cut, I can’t help but wonder if the Chiefs will be interested. Scott Pioli is obviously very familiar with Kacur’s play from his time in New England and while Barry Richardson and Ryan O’Callaghan have played alright at RT for the Chiefs, neither one could claim to have a stranglehold on the job.

Pioli is an offensive line guy and he has shown by acquiring veterans like Ryan Lilja and Casey Weigmann that he isn’t afraid to bring in older players to plug holes. If Kaczur does get released I won’t be surprised if the Chiefs bring him in to kick his tires.

What do you think Addicts? If Kaczur gets released should the Chiefs take a look?
