AA’s Put Up Or Shut Up Season Prediction Results!

facebooktwitterreddit

Now that the season is all wrapped up and the very exciting labor negation season has begun, I thought the time was ripe to go back in time and re-visit our Arrowhead Addict “Put Up Or Shut Up” season predictions.

Now our staff has grown quite a bit since September so not all of the familiar AA voices will be listed here. Back then picks were turned in my Merlin, Jeremy, Randy, Big Matt, Double D, Adam Best and I.

The AA staff picked in 21 different categories. We picked each Division Winner (8), the wild cards (4), the AFC and NFC Champions (2), the Super Bowl Champion (1), and all of the major awards which consisted of defensive and offensive player of the year, MVP, coach of the year and rookie defensive and offensive player of the year (6).

When I tallied these up I did not give points for indirectly being correct. By that I mean if a guy picked the Jets to win the AFC East and the Patriots to win one of the Wild Cards, he is 0-2 because that isn’t how it went down. I gave everyone one point for each correct prediction and we had a clear winner.

Who ruled the day? Who get’s AA bragging rights for the rest of the offseason? Find out after the jump.

Merlin-6 Points

Merlin brings it home with a site high 6 points. That just goes to show just how hard it is to bat a thousand when making preseason picks in the NFL. Merlin was the best we had to offer and he was 6 of 21. He correctly predicted that the Packers would win the Super Bowl.

Paddy-5 Points

Merlin beat me fair and square but I turned a respectable silver medal performance coming through with 5 points. I also correctly predicted Green Bay would win it all. (I also predicted the Chiefs would go 10-6 but I had them as the Wild Card).

Jeremy and Adam Best-4 Points

The bronze medals go to Jeremy and Adam Best who tied with 4 correct predictions each. Jeremy correctly predicted Green Bay would win the Super Bowl.

Better Luck Next Year:

Double D and Randy– 2 Points

Double D and Randy had some bad luck this year and missed getting on the podium. Look for them both to come back strong in 2011.

Last and most certainly least:

Big Matt-1 Point

Big Matt proves he has no idea what he’s talking about. =) Matt was a new addition to the AA staff back then so we’ll cut him some slack. He’s stepped up his game since as he demonstrated with his strong playoff prediction performance. Big Matt’s lone correct prediction was picking Suh as the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Well there you have it Addicts. We put up and now we all have to shut up (except for Merlin).

Looking forward to next year’s competition to see how the new staff members perform.
