Jamaal Charles And Eric Berry Win Team Awards

Just when you thought most of the football awards and accolades were all handed out, the Kansas City Chiefs have got just a few more to award.

The team gave out it’s annual awards today. These awards are voted on by the players so I always find it interesting to see who they choose for each honor.

The first honor is the Derrick Thomas MVP award and that went to RB Jamaal Charles for the second straight season. Can’t say I’d argue with that one.

The second honor is the teams Mack Lee Hill Rookie of the Year award and that went to S Eric Berry. Berry had an excellent rookie season and as Josh Looney of KCChiefs pointed out, was the first KC rookie since Derrick Thomas to be selected to the Pro Bowl.

The Chiefs have plenty of holes that still need filling but whenever I think of young starts like Charles and Berry I realize just how bright the future might be for out Kansas City Chiefs.
