Jamaal Charles Wins Fedex Ground Player Of The Year

He may not have gotten all the credit he deserved for his remarkable season running the football but Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles has just been named the Fedex Ground Player of the Year!

We’ve brought you the updates on Chiefs players that were nominated for these awards all season. Each week in the NFL, there was a Fedex Air award for QB’s and a Fedex Ground award for running backs. Those players that were nominated for the award the most times throughout the season squared off in one final battle over the last couple of weeks. Aaron Rodgers took home the Fedex Air honor and Charles the Fedex Ground.

Charles defeated NFL rushing leader Arian Foster (because Charles is way better) and Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner.

The cherry on top of this sundae is that Fedex is donating $25,000 to Safe Kids USA coalition in Kansas City in honor of Charles. Pretty cool, huh?

Congratulations to Jamaal for his much, much deserved recognition and here’s hoping coach Haley joins him in the victory circle this evening when the AP Coach of the Year Honors are dished out.
