Jets Beat Colts, Will Go To New England

The New York Jets defeated the Indianapolis Colts 17-16 Sunday, meaning they will travel to New England next week to take on the #1 seed Patriots.

As such, the Kansas City Chiefs’ path to the Super Bowl is now clear. If the Chiefs manage to defeat the Baltimore Ravens tomorrow afternoon, they will then travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Should they win that game, they will advance to the AFC Championship game.

If the Patriots beat the Jets, the AFC Championship will be in New England.

If the Jets beat the Patriots (and the Chiefs knock off the Ravens and Steelers) the AFC Championship game would be held at Arrowhead Stadium!

While that would be nice, we can’t get ahead of ourselves. The Chiefs haven’t won a playoff game yet and they will have to go through a couple of really good football teams to get to the title game.

It should be noted, however, that upsets appear to be in the air this NFL post season. The 7-9 Seattle Seahawks beat the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints earlier today and the Jets, also an underdog, knocked off Peyton Manning and the Colts.

Let’s hope the Chiefs can pull off upset #3 by dispatching of the birds from Baltimore tomorrow afternoon.
