Who Will The Kansas City Chiefs Host In The Playoffs?

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs clinched their first AFC West title since 2003 today when they won and the San Diego chargers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Now that we know the Chiefs will host a playoff game, who are they going to play?

Here are the current playoff standings as of right now.

1. New England Patriots

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

3. Kansas City Chiefs

4. Indianapolis Colts

5. Baltimore Ravens

6. New York Jets

Let’s break down the possibilities after the jump.

As the #3 seed, the Chiefs would host the 6 seed at Arrowhead Stadium. That means if the the playoffs were to start next weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs would host the 6 seed New York Jets, while the winner of the AFC South would host the Baltimore Ravens or Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, if the Chiefs lose to the Oakland Raiders next week and the Indianapolis Colts win the AFC South and finish at 10-6, the Chiefs would drop to the #4 seed and would host the Baltimore Ravens.

If the Chiefs finish 10-6 and the Colts finish 10-6 and the Pittsburgh Steelers lose to the Cleveland Browns next week, the Chiefs would host the Steelers at Arrowhead.

Got all that?

To simplify: The Chiefs will probably host either the NY Jets or the Baltimore Ravens, with an outside possibility of hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.
