Here is an interesting article from the Sporting News on the Chiefs’ rookies and Haley’s take on them:
"Tony Moeaki, TE, IowaThe pick: Third round, 93rd overall.Making his mark: On an offense that uses the pass conservatively, Moeaki quickly has become quarterback Matt Cassel’s most trusted receiver. He leads the team with 18 receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns.Haley says: “What I tried to get a lot of real good players—Larry Fitzgerald, Keyshawn Johnson, Terry Glenn—to do and wasn’t able to do it, this guy just does with a real natural feel.”"
This one breaks my heart, oh what could have been:
"Cameron Sheffield, LB, TroyThe pick: Fifth round, 142nd overall.Making his mark: Sheffield was expected to contribute as a special teams player and pass rusher in sub-packages until he sustained a season-ending neck injury in preseason.Haley says: “I wish we had him. He was coming on.”"
