I’ve put it off. I’ve stalled. I’ve let all the staff members go on the record with their picks.

I can wait no longer.

The NFL season starts today and I have to go on the record so that come this time next year, you can all ridicule me about how off the mark I was. For instance, last year I picked the Titans to win the Super Bowl.

Oops.

I’ve got my crystal ball. Let’s do this.

AFC East: Patriots
AFC North: Ravens
AFC South: Colts
AFC West: Chargers

NFC East: Cowboys
NFC North: Packers
NFC South: Saints
NFC West: 49ers

AFC Wild Cards: (2) Jets, Chiefs
NFC Wild Cards: (2) Vikings, Panthers

AFC Champion: Colts
NFC Champion: Packers

Super Bowl Champion: Packers

Coach of the Year: Todd Haley

MVP: Aaron Rodgers

Offensive Player of the Year: Aaron Rodgers
Defensive Player of the Year: Bob Sanders

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ryan Matthews
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Eric Berry

I can believe that the Chiefs can pull off winning our bad division, but I am not sure I can believe that they'll be good enough to earn a wild card. I think it'll come down to Miami/Jets/Pats (one winning division, the other being in the wild card hunt) Bengals/Ravens (same as above) and Texans/Colts. That is two more teams than will make the playoffs and I think all of them are better than the Chiefs. Also, is Bob Sanders going to play a whole year? All and all, I would LOVE for you to be right!

Well I look at it like this...if the Chiefs go from 4-12 to 10-6 and make the playoffs, how could Haley not be coach of the year?
