Clowney To Workout For Chiefs Friday

facebooktwitterreddit

We told you this morning that former NY Jets receiver David Clowney tweeted that he was on his way to Kansas City.

Now Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star is reporting that Clowney is indeed going to workout for the Chiefs tomorrow.

Clowney has had a disappoint career thus far. He was drafted in the 5th round by the Green Bay Packers. He eventually found his way to the Jets and had a spectacular preseason before injuring his collar bone and missing most of the season. In 2009 he had only 14 catches for 191 yards.

Clowney appears to have the physical tools. Check out his combine numbers:

"40 yard dash = 4.37 seconds10 yard dash = 1.57 seconds20 yard short shuttle = 4.15 secondsVertical Jump = 32.5 inches"

If he has a good workout the Chiefs may take a chance on him. With the team so thin at WR, I can’t see why they wouldn’t.

What do you think Addicts? At 25, can Clowney still make something of his career?
