Chiefs In Need Of Receivers

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas City Chiefs have set their 53 man roster and added 8 men to their practice squad but they likely aren’t finished shaking up their roster.

The Chiefs are looking pretty think at a couple of areas. The release of Tyler Palko means the team is only carrying two QB’s. I thought for a time that the Chiefs were sure to pick up an emergency QB but with Tyler Palko being added to the practice squad, there is a chance the Chiefs may carry only two QB’s because they can call up Palko should something happen to Matt Cassel.

The other position the Chiefs are now very shallow at is WR. Yesterday they placed Jerhemy Urban on IR and today released Quinten Lawrence to make room for nose tackle Anthony Toribio, whom the Chiefs claimed off of waivers from the Green Bay Packers.

Tight now the Chiefs have only 5 wide receivers listed on their depth chart. Dwayne Bowe, Chris Chambers, Dexter McCluster, Jeremy Horne and Terrance Copper.

Both Horne and Copper are totally unproven as wideouts and McCluster is a rookie slot receiver.

It would be a shock if the Chiefs don’t add some WR depth before the start of the season.

The Chiefs are currently carrying two FB’s and three TE’s so there is certainly wiggle room should they want to add more depth at WR.

Any ideas on who the Chiefs might go after? Or do you think they are fine with the receivers they have?
