Chiefs Defenses Rises, O’Callaghan Injured In AM Practice

Josh Looney over at KCChiefs.com has his AM practice report out. We will have to rely on things like this now since the public is no longer able to attend practice. Though there will be an open practice tomorrow night at the new Arrowhead Stadium. If anyone is going, and wants to provide us with a practice report, please email me at Patrick.ArrowheadAddict@gmail.com.

According to Looney, the D had a pretty good day:

"Beginning with a live goal line period, the Chiefs defensive surge was on. Featuring three plays from the three-yard line, the defense shut the offense out of the end zone. RB Thomas Jones was coralled before the goal line the on first try by DE Glenn Dorsey, S Kendrick Lewis made a nice fill to stall RB Jackie Battle on the second attempt and DTs Ron Edwards and Shaun Smith found their way into the backfield on a fumbled snap to complete the three-play sweep. Those three plays set the tone for the rest of practice.“We looked good today,” LB Derrick Johnson said. “We were all jacked up when we had a little goal line. Our goal line was live and we get jacked up for that. My hat is off to the defense, because we’re just trying to take that next step.”"

The other important note from practice was that starting RT Ryan O’Callahan left practice with a limp. There is no word (and there won’t be) on Ryan’s injury. Reserve lineman Barry Richardson filled in following O’Callaghan’s departure.
