Greenwood Switches To Offensive Line

Chiefs defensive end agent Bobby Greenwood, switched jersey’s yesterday and played a little offensive line.

The Chiefs have been doing a little bit of shuffling along the line due to some injuries. Center Rudy Niswanger has seen some time at guard in place of an injured Ryan Lilja and now Greenwood is seeing action at right tackle.

Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com said Greenwood looked all right in pass rushing drills.

"Greenwood took part in some of the pass rush drills and looked to hold his own during the session. A casual observer wouldn’t have been able to tell that it was Greenwood’s debut on the offensive front."

While Greenwood isn’t likely to end up starting along the offensive line, it is nice to see that the Chiefs have players with versatility. Given the age of guys like Waters and Weigmann and the injury history of Lilja, there is a very good chance the Chiefs will need some emergency offensive lineman at some point in 2010. It can’t hurt to get these guys some reps now, just in case.
