Report: Eric Berry Close To Deal

Jim Wogan of WATE in Knoxville, TN is reporting via Twitter that he spoke with Berry’s agent, Chad Speck last night and that Speck told him the sides were “close” to a deal.

If this report is true then the both sides will likely be working hard today to get a deal hammered out so that Berry can report to camp tomorrow.

This would be a fantastic development for Haley and his staff. We have been speculating that Speck might might advise his client to hold of on signing a contract until the rest of the top 5, or at least the players picked before an dafter Berry, are signed.

This obviously isn’t a done deal but it is reason for hope.
