Some New Features Around AA

by Chiefs

The Fansided network continues it’s quest to bring you the best in sports and pop culture blogging by adding some new features. Fansided is still a young network but we are growing stronger everyday and with growing will come some changes. It wasn’t that long ago that AA had the entire site redesigned. Not the entire network is completed. Each day we are all putting our heads together to discuss new ideas and features to improve your experience on out blogs.

Being a reader of AA is a perk. AA is one of the most popular blogs on the network so we usually get the new digs first. Your feedback is key to helping us shape the blog to suit you.

As you can see we’ve made some changes to the sidebar. We’ve made it possible for you to become of fan of Fansided on Facebook and we have also changed up the tabs a bit. As you can see, we now have a tab that features the most popular posts. These will be ordered by how many comments a post has. Under the “Popular Tab” you will always be able to find the most commented stories from that month. This way you will never miss a chance to get in on the discussion.

We have also updated our forums. The page is much wider and we have worked out some of the wonky formatting issues that were causing some problems. Be sure to check them out. We had a couple of cool Addict Posts last week and I would love to see that area of the site continue to flourish. Addict Posts that are well written will always be given consideration for front page promotion. I read them all.

Lastly, I have been a bit busy but I will be reaching out to the winners of our submission contest sometime this week. If you had one of your submissions promoted to the main page please keep an eye on your email this week. We received a ton of great work so we got to be really picky. If you submitted and aren’t invited to join the staff please don’t take it personally. I can’t express how important all our readers and commenters are and it takes a lot of guts to sit down and write something and then share it with others. Believe me, I know. You can always work on your writing in the Addict Posts. The Addict Posts are there for those of you who want to do your own blogging about the Chiefs to post work. I posts Fan Posts over at Arrowhead Pride for an entire year just because I enjoyed blogging about the Chiefs and as a result, I got the job I have here at AA.

Please let us know what you think of the changes and if there is anything you would like to see added to the site, in the comments of this post. The powers that be are listening and your opinion matters.

Cheers,

Paddy

Appreciate the hard work you and the rest of the Fansided guys do, Paddy. Excited to see what you guys have in store. Curse this slow period in the NFL. Can't wait for training camp to start.

Thanks Ehud! Really appreciate it!

this site sucks. i submitted a pretty dam good article for this reader submission b.s. and it never made it. maybe because im from colorado. but it was on the level of all the other submissions i read while anxiously waiting for mine to post. i definately thought for sure mine would be posted, but i think the fact im from colorado and not kansas, or missouri or kansas city kept it from making the site. anyhow, whatever this is the last time i visit the site because obviously the person who runs it cant appreciate genuine fanhood regardless of location. arrowheadpride and bobgretz should do me just fine as they have before i dont really need this site its slow anyway and has usually boring old news stories and posts that arrowheadpride or bobgretz had hours before. thanks arrowhead addict for your short stint on being one of my frequently visited sites daily. short but sweet. maybe the owner of the site can reevaluate his appreciation and judgement of fine written pieces regarding the finest team and fanbase in the country.

Sorry you feel that way. I read all the pieces and I picked the ones that I thought best suited the site and that were well written, spell checked and free from too many errors. As for you being from Colorado, that has nothing to do with it. I run this site and I am a huge Chiefs fan and I have never lived in Kansas City. In fact, I have never BEEN to Kansas City. I am going for the first time this season for Monday Night Football. If you don't like AA please feel free to go elsewhere. I was very appreciative of all of the submissions. I simply could not pick them all. This is the way it is with any contest. If that is enough to make you insult me and the site that you submitted to write for, then I feel I made the right decision in not choosing your article. I hope you give AA and its contributors another chance. We appreciate all of our readers and regulars, even if we can't hire the all to write for the site.

I understand how you can feel disrespected because your post was not selected. I doubt your location had anything to do with it. I have been writing here for a long time and I live in Maine. Hang in there and keep posting those fanposts. You never know, AA could need even more writers again. I got my position here from posting comments that disagreed with Adam Best, but he liked them. Hang in there and keep plugging away!

I also don't live in Kansas City and he put mine up there. I think decent grammar and spelling probably helped.
