AA Exclusive: Trent Williams Did Not Visit KC

Trent Williams has been shooting up draft board in the last couple of weeks, with some experts even predicting that the Oklahoma product could go ahead of Russel Okung.There has been recent speculation that the Redskins are seriously interested in Williams and that they could take him with the 4th pick. Even our own Andrew Crocker made Williams his official prediction to be the Chiefs first round draft choice.

So could Trent Williams be the Chiefs pick at #5? Maybe, but if the Chiefs do want Williams, they are being sneaky about it.

I spoke to Tent today at the Sean John Fine Tailoring Event and he told me that although the Chiefs worked him out, he was not one of the players the team brought to town.

“I didn’t actually go out to Kansas City but they worked me out,” said Williams.

Now, this doesn’t mean that Williams isn’t on KC’s draft board but I would say it is a clue to their level of interest in him. Each team is only allowed to bring 30 guys to town and you would assume that if the Chiefs were seriously considering Williams that they would have brought him in to try some of that fine KC BBQ.
