Chiefs Start Offseason Program Today

It is time for the Chiefs to start "Sweatin to the Oldies" with Body By Haley

It’s time to get physical, Addicts. The Chiefs will meet today in an organized team activity for the first time since they spanked the Denver Broncos at Mile High and officially eliminated them from the playoffs.

Ahhh. Boy, do I love saying that. In fact, I love it so much, I am going to say it again.

The Chiefs will meet today in an organized team activity for the first time since the spanked they Denver Broncos at Mile High and officially eliminated them from the playoffs.

The 09′ Chiefs sure didn’t make watching them play football easy but you have to hand it to them, they gave us one hell of a finale.

Today is the day the Chiefs begin their 2010 journey. That journey starts with offseason workouts or as Chiefs fans have affectionately dubbed the process “Body By Haley.”

The workouts are not mandatory and only players with contracts will be able to attend. Bob Gretz has a nice article about it over at BobGretz.com that you should check out.

This is an important step for a team like the Chiefs. While some might view the offseason workouts as simply weight lifting, it is a chance for the coaching staff to get a good feel for which players they can count on in 2010. Last year, the players did not know what to expect when Todd Haley came to town. Now most of the roster has played under Haley and they know what is expected of them. If players, especially younger players, show up out of shape or don’t show up at all, they will be sending a message to the coaching staff that the can not be relied upon.

I know things have been slow, Addicts, but it sure does feel good to know that the Chiefs are going to work today!
