King Carl Seen With Dolphins Owner At League Meetings

Not long ago we gave you the heads up that our old friend “King” Carl Peterson was spotted at the NFL league meetings in Orlando. I

suggested at the time that the “King” might be looking for a job, possibly with the Miami Dolphins, as he has been linked as a possible successor to Bill Parcells.

Well it looks like more fuel is being thrown on that fire, at least according to Pro Football Talk:

"Per a league source, Peterson and Ross were seen together on numerous occasions, with Dolphins G.M. Jeff Ireland and coach Tony Sparano rarely in sight.  It has long been believed that Ross will hire Peterson once current V.P. of football operations Bill Parcells leaves. The source believes that Ireland and/or Sparano could be in trouble if Peterson is hired, given that Peterson would become the G.M. — and the possibility that he would want to hire his own coach."

It may still be possible that Peterson is simply friendly with Ross and is at the meetings because of his duties as the Chairman of USA Football. Still, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Carl Peterson back in the NFL sooner rather than later. After all, it took him 20 years to leave KC. One doesn’t usually stay in a job that long unless he likes it. I bet Peterson’s time away has given him the itch again.
