The Chiefs still haven’t signed any big name free agents but it looks as though that may change on Monday. Adam Schefter is reporting that former NY Jets running 
back Thomas Jones will visit KC on Monday.
More veteran RB news to go along with Willie Parker and Justin Fargas: Chiefs scheduled former Jets RB Thomas Jones to visit KC on Monday.
It looks as though the Chiefs are very interested in adding RB help for Jamaal Charles through free agency. They have been linked to having interest in Chester Taylor, Darren Sproles and Jones over the last week. With Sproles and Taylor off the market, it looks like their focus is now on Jones.
While it is no guarantee Jones will sign with KC on Monday, in general, once a free agent goes to a city for a visit he usually doesn’t leave without a contract. If Jones is going all the way to KC, the interest must be mutual. If I were a betting man, I would say Jones will be a Chief before Monday is over. Looks like the Chiefs want a little thunder to go with the Jamaal Charles lightening.

Ya Would allow jamaal the chance To return kicks And or punts plus help on the goalline
Heck yea, I’ve been vying for jones to come to kc since I heard he might be leaving the jets. He can get the hard yards, keep charles fresh and once the run game is established it will open the way for cassel. Hopefully he will keep cassel fresh as well as keep him off his backside every other play…. just what we need to help cassel in his development. Also he can possibly help train up his replacement… mentor for battle perhaps? I can only see good things happening here. I love the chiefs and I love thomas jones as a hardworking player.

That is a very good point. I hadn’t thought of it before but adding a RB the caliber of Jones could allow Charles to also be a threat in the return game.
The Chiefs Special Teams was very good last year with the exception of the return game. Kicking, Punting and coverage (with the exception of the Browns game but Cribbs is pretty amazing) was very good.
If Charles is able to return most of our kicks he could do same damage there as well.
I like jones in the fact that. Hes a total back powerful and speed. I think his biggest asset Would b hes a workout warrior and will teach jamaal some stuff aswell as being a great back to spell jamaal.

I am down with signing Thomas Jones.
Huge fan of Jones. I think he got the shaft in Chicago. He is a great complement to Charles.
My only worry is that he will be going from the best O-line in the NFL to ours. Hopefully his success there was a combination of him and the O-line and not just the O-line.
By getting Jones we no longer have to get a RB in this draft. That is a plus.
That would be one good peace to the puzzle. plus why not grab t.o. to help out,they better resign Chambers.
I don’t see T.O. happening. Todd Haley isn’t a fan at all. Absolutely sign Thomas Jones. He’s an ideal fit. Looks like Chambers is staying, which is huge. I thought it would be a huge mistake to not resign him.
