The Dolphins will release safety Gibril Wilson Friday, one week after the team’s G.M. Jeff Ireland publicly backed him.
“We have our evaluation of Gibril Wilson,” Ireland said. “We know what kind of player he’s capable of being. I think he’s going to be a very good player for the future.”
Wilson’s agent Alvin Keels broke the news on Twitter and will be looking to break the bank again. Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald points out that Wilson has earned an amazing $24 million in guaranteed money for two one-and-done seasons in Oakland and Miami.
