Chiefs Links: Big 12 WRs Dominate … Sunday Cup O’Combine

by Chiefs

From BobGretz.com:

Wide receivers will hit the field today at Lucas Oil Stadium to run the 40-yard dash and go through other drills as part of the NFL Combine.

The Chiefs will be paying close attention; they need some young receiver help in the 2010 NFL Draft.

“It’s a good group,” head coach Todd Haley said on Saturday. “We can find something there.”

What’s noteworthy about the group of 44 wide receivers in town for the four-day Combine is the presence of so many pass catchers out of the Big 12 Conference. At every level of prospective talent among the receivers there are familiar names to college football fans in the Midwest.

With the deep class of wideouts in this years draft, 2 could be added to the roster & have every bit the chance to make the team.

Last years draft pick Korean Robinson will have an entire offseason to continue to grow & improve. Haley liked him thruout the saeson put Robinson couldn stay active. I hope his play grows in that 1st & 2nd season as most players do. He will benefit in this system.

Of course this draft could be shaken up with Dwayne Bowes contract demands & the out come of Chambers who I would let walk.

I really like Golden Tate. I think he's going to be the next Wes Welker in the nfl. He's such a scrapper! Has amazing hands, speed, and is the best in the draft after the catch. My only big concern would be his size. I really want KC to find a big wide-out for the deep threat.
