Raiders Tag Seymour

It appears the Raiders have plopped down a bunch of money to keep Richard Seymour as they continue to try to work out a long term deal with the DE.

This doesn’t really come as a surprise. The Raiders traded a first round pick for Seymour and it would be ridiculous to lose him after only one season. Then again, it was ridiculous for them to trade for him in the first place but there you are.

"As expected, the Oakland Raiders just franchised former New England Patriots [team stats] defensive end Richard Seymour [stats] at a cost of $12.398 million for 2010 but the two sides have been in ongoing contract negotiations on a long-term deal. Those talks are continuing.Seymour recently told the Herald he would be “happy to stay with the Raiders and be a part of bringing them back to the playoffs.” That would be some accomplishment."
