Terrence Cody Weighs In At 370

by Chiefs

I know a lot of you are hoping Alabama NT, Terrence Cody is available at the beginning of the 2nd round. However, when he was weighed in at the Senior Bowl, he tipped the scales at 370 pounds. Cody has always been a big boy but he is apparently about 15 pounds heavier than he was just a few weeks ago in the National Championship. You have to question his work ethic and commitment to staying in shape. Chances are, scouts are as well. I don’t think Cody would stand much of a chance passing Haley’s conditioning test.

I know the Chiefs need a NT but they need an athlete as well and as you can see from the picture there, Cody doesn’t look much like an athlete. You have to wonder how long he would hold up playing that weight. I don’t even know if “Body By Haley” could help him.

One thing is for certain, some team is going to take a chance on him. Sound off Addicts, should it be the Chiefs?

This worries me too and I'm beginning to change my tune on this guy. Spending a 2nd round pick on a 2 down lineman who's in this kind of shape? Uh, maybe not?

sdchief,

Interesting perspective & experience. Thanks for the post.

ok, IF WE CANT NAB BIG VINCE, or at LEAST Hampton as a stop gap(a good one at that)...Im ok with Cody in round 2, but with the SECOND of the picks....he looks like andre smith...I dont like this at all...I have personally worked out alongside maurice clarett...this was when he tried to shave off his 40 time the SECOND time he ran it....it DID improve, but this guy was out of shape, and refused to do simple streches since they "wasted time" I also saw him refuse to do core strength drills, and some agility drills...by the end the trainer was rooting AGAINST clarett....Also got to work out next to LT for years....Big difference, LT, he comes in EARLY, ready to go, and is willing to knock out any drill...the fact clarett stole cell phones for a living shocked no one...

with that said, if cody wont put the work in...I have to pass on him.

I'd pull the trigger, the question is if I'd do it with 2a or 2b.

I'm guessing Pioli would pull the trigger at 2a because of the Saban connecton.

If hes there in the 2ed i say you pull the trigger n take the kid i mean hes a beast at stopping the run and would make a huge impact from day 1. weight issues will get solved with haelys "Help"
