No Chiefs Selected To The Pro Bowl

This doesn’t really come as a huge surprise but that doesn’t keep it from stinging. In previous seasons, even when the team was playing poorly, the Chiefs could count on the likes of Tony Gonzales and Brian Waters to represent them in Hawaii.

Well, Tony is in Atlanta (and was not selected) and Brian Waters simply did not have enough help this year to play his best.

The biggest snub for the Chiefs, if you can call it a snub, was that of P Dustin Collquitt. He was passed over in favor of Oakland’s Shane Lechler. We’ll have more on Colquitt tomorrow. Until then you can check out the full list of Pro Bowlers here.

I had a conversation with coach gansz the day he helped draft Dustin Colquitt, and throughout that rookie year, loved his ability then, and now...goodness, his punting statistics are ridiculous...I love at the Saints rookie punter, who has had a nice year, and he has half the TB percentage of colquitt, who is just a monster that has had 3-4 kicks bounce right past our own players on many occasions...

I figured lechler would get it, he has janikowski to kick long field goals avoiding the coffin corner short punt, and he only comes in to boot 60 plus yarders...there is so much more work and ability in placing the ball the way colquitt does, lechler has been credited before, he is a fantastic punter, I just think much like how Tony G was passed over...it was Dustin's Turn..

some still question using a 3 for colquitt, I still say hes one of the best second or third round picks this team has had since 2000.
