I re-watched yesterdays game between the Chiefs and Bengals this morning and I have to say my reaction was the same as when I was watching the game. The Chiefs were very well prepared for their contest against the Bengals.
Outmatched in nearly every way, going up against a playoff team, the young Chiefs held their own. Was it perfect? Of course not but it was certainly a breath of fresh air as games against potential playoffs teams have not gone well for the Chiefs this season.
The Chiefs were going up against a very touch defense but still managed to move the ball pretty well. Particularly impressive was the performance of Jamaal Charles, as he again turned in another 100 yard effort.
I mentioned earlier in the week that the Chiefs needed to avoid giving up the big play and that is exactly what they did, with the exception of a 32 yard run by Cedric Benson. The game was close but in the end, the Chiefs defense could not take advantage of having the Bengals backed up in their own territory.Still, the Chiefs showed they weren’t willing to pack it in for the season and played tough on the road.
Hopefully they can take that same attitude into Mile High next Sunday.
