Cleveland 13 Pittsburgh 6

For me, as a Chiefs’ fan, this ranks as the most intriguing game result of the season.

Why on earth would I say that? I mean, the Chiefs weren’t even playing, right?

Frankly, I can think of two pretty big reasons.

One, it directly challenges our assumptions about that Chiefs’ victory over the Stillers.  Yeah, it felt pretty good at the time. But now, in an even bigger way, I believe last night’s result totally torpedoed how positively we can assess this season. The “USS Evaluation” may not be sunk (not yet anyway), but it just sustained major damage.

Two,  Cleveland’s defeat of Pittsburgh ought to challenge whatever assumptions we held about how easy it will be for us to take down the Browns  one week from Sunday.  Cleveland just demonstrated what it means to not quit no matter how bad things get.  I don’t know about you, but I know I’m a bit less certain about that gimme on the schedule today than I was yesterday.

What are your thoughts about last night’s game, Addicts? Are you equally stunned? Are you a little (or maybe a lot?) more worried about the Chiefs’ level of progress than before?

DD I would not be surprised if we don’t get another W this season. Going to be interesting to see what Pioli does in the off season. I certainly hope he is already working on the plan.

Yeah, I had this same thought when they lost to the Raiders.

Kind of an “Oh… I see.” moment.

The loss to the Browns just confirms that our win over the crashing-and-burning Steelers doesn’t give us too much to be excited about. Hell, Ben Roethlisberger didn’t even play the whole game against us…
