Rapid Reports From Bob Gretz

by Chiefs

Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles tried to tough it out in short sleeves during a cold and windy outdoor practice on Wednesday. He lasted about 15 minutes. “I had to come back in and put long sleeves on,” Charles said. “I’m from Port Arthur, Texas, and we don’t see weather like that.”

Despite temps in the 30s and windy conditions that made it feel like the low 20s, the Chiefs practiced outside for two hours in full pads on Wednesday. “We are trying to create a mentally tough group, that not much can bother them,” coach Todd Haley said. “You can only create that by doing some of these things, not taking the easy way out.”

The Chiefs listed only RB Dantrell Savage (ankle) and RB Kolby Smith (ankle) as limited during Wednesday’s practice.

Chiefs G Andy Alleman returned to practice Wednesday after missing two weeks with a sprained left knee. However, Alleman didn’t return to the starting right guard spot he held before the injury. It looks like Wade Smith is going to keep that spot with the No.1 offense.

Chiefs OLB Mike Vrabel was back on the practice field Wednesday morning for the first time since he injured his left knee on Nov. 15. Vrabel has missed the last two games because of the injury. He was working with the No. 1 defense.

HEY!! Has anyone notice that our last 5 opponents (actually four different ones since we play the donkeys twice) are "killer" B's?

Broncos
Bills
Browns
Bengals
Broncos

Sorry. Had a dork moment going on!

HUH? IT SOUNDS LIKE A CHOICE BY JAMAAL, NOT A COACHING THING! DID I MISS SOMETHING AGAIN?

Nice to see you commenting again Chris.

Haha... didn't think of it that way. What a cruel bastard. Poor little players shouldn't be out in the cold...

First its all the yelling & swearing at guys in front of there team mates & now he`s making guys from Texas wear short sleeves in the bitter cold .This gut is out of control ''MEAN''...

If there's one thing that Pioli/Haley have brought to this team, it's a tough mindset. Harm let the team get soft in practice and it showed on gameday. Win or lose each week, at least we don't have to watch our guys half-assing it around on the field.

Hopefully, we'll get some decent talent in here in the off-season and next year we'll be a legit team again.
