Pain Reliever

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 10 Comments |

Losing hurts, losing consistently over and over again is painful.  Our Pittsburgh game was in essence a little medication to help ease the pain of all this losing. Wins make it much easier to be a Chiefs fan. Wins make it much easier to deal with losing (especially against the Superbowl Defending Champs). A game like that is what brings us all back every day (every hour) to read, to write, to criticize and to admire your Kansas City Chiefs.

You want proof that Haley is our guy. Here it is: in his post game press conference he stated that he “lives and dies everyday” and every moment with this franchise. “Not just on game day, but Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday”, etc… Does that sound like a head coach, or does that sound like YOU!

Could this team be turning a corner? Only time will tell what we do with this win. If we can beat the Steelers, then we can beat the Chargers, the Broncos, the Bills, the Browns, and the Bengals. Right? We could have (should have) beaten the Ravens, Raiders, Cowboys, and Jacksonville. Maybe this team isn’t as bad as one would think? Improvement and progress is starting. Could our consistent pain be going away? This week was definitely a “shot in the arm”.

Jeremy, I have been saying all along I will be patient and wait for good things to come from Haley and the new regime. Who knows, maybe yesterday was a fluke and we lose the next seven straight and we all can’t wait for the new regime to be gone again. But truely I don’t think so. Haley seems to me a man that coaches with pure heart. I personally think the man is genuine, win or lose. I believe it takes time for a team/players to get use to the ideas of a new coaching system. From what I have seen the players have been behind Haley and that is why I think we are turning the corner. I know DD thinks they are afraid to speak their mind and he maybe right, but I think they believe in their coach who is all heart. We have heard all season about the right 53 and the lack of talent. Yesterday was the right 53 because they all played with heart!!! BTW, I could give a shit less about a top ten draft pick if it means we can start walking around again as Chiefs fans with some pride.

I will say this, if we can beat San Diego this weekend, then there is no excuse for not winning out the last 5 games.

  3. All though we have along ways to go, at least we are going in the right direction unlike the Broncos.

Shane, we still need a lot more patience.

The Big Mo is now in our favor leading the team to believe they can win every game. Vrod its possible.

Jeremy I think the turnaround started with the departure of LJ.

Vrod while I sincerly hope the Chiefs can beat the Chargers .It will be a tall order. The Chargers a playing about as good as anyone in the AFC. But man would it be nice if the Chiefs win 3 in a row…Its been a long time…

It might just be me but all season it seems like the team, especially the offense, really struggles in the first half and doesn’t play half bad in the second half. Maybe this will translate to the season as well (shitty first half, not a bad second half of the season).

I totally agree with you Slack JAW. Having suffered for two years now I just don’t want to get my hopes up. I’ll be cautiously optimistic.

  7. Gump says:

Did you all see the players mug Haley after the win? They are not afraid of him, that’s crap. So some disgruntled X-Chiefs have something to say, probably why they are X_Chiefs. Didn’t like the new direction, didn’t do as they were asked, scratch that, as they were told. (Because there is now some leadership in this franchise) And now they have a negative opinion of what is going on here. So what??

  8. Dr. Paine says:

I expect another inspired effort in SD, where we have played them close the last several years, win or lose. After the way we got blown out at home a couple weeks ago by the bolts, I expect us to come out and punch em in the mouth, like we did the Steelers. Incidentally, I can’t help but wish we still had Pollard right now watching MNF. The guy is a ball player. Why did he get cut again?

  9. sgt_ducttape says:

Most of it has all been said except WE ARE 2-0 WITHOUT LARRY JOHNSON!

I’m with you slack jaw. Its a tall order, but the Bolts can be beaten.
