Jamaal Charles' Awesome Fourth Down TD Run

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 8 Comments

Todd Haley stuck to his guns and stayed with the Parcells philosophy — (paraphrasing) “if you don’t go for it on fourth and short from anywhere reasonable on the field you are a chickensh**.” Instead of calling another boneheaded quarterback sneak or pounding it up the middle with smallish running backs and a mediocre line, Haley made a brilliant call. He called a halfback toss, hoping his fastest player would get to the edge and beat the Raiders defense in a foot race. Boy did Jamaal Charles ever. This run might be the highlight of the season so far, and the call won our Chiefs the game.

Check out the video, complete with a few funny speech bubbles compliments of Zach…

Chiefs Win! Chiefs Win! Chiefs Win!

That was a nasty game. But the Chiefs better be ready for a Steelers team with a chip on their shoulder after their loss to Cincy.

    But for tonight: Chiefs Win!

You were right about LJ all along. He was/is trash.

Jamal Charles was great, bt we still need a big bruising back. Charles still has ball security issues.

I love those sweep plays to our speedy backs. Its alot more fun to watch than LJ jogging up to the middle of the line and laying down. I also think that the sweep plays are a better fit for our OL.
