Just in Time For Another Disappointment

AUTHOR: jeremyhanson | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

I got back from my Caribbean vacation a couple of hours before the Chiefs game started. I was in total isolation without any Chiefs’ news for over a week. The vacation and bye week helped recharge my Chiefs battery. (It was running extremely low). I figured it would also help the Chiefs to victory as they had an extra week to prepare for one downtrodden opponent. Uhhhh, not so much, huh?

This team is just plain perplexing on many levels. So I will address my biggest gripe: It’s time to let it all out. Screw the conservative; keep it tight offensive play calling B.S. We need to throw and throw some more. Since we are only converting 20% of our third downs, and have so many three and outs it only makes since, right? We are not a run team. We don’t have the personnel. Is this that difficult to understand?

We need an offense like the Eagles. Use Kolby Smith, Jamal Charles, and Dantrel Savage just like Andy Reid does with Brian Westbroook. Just like the Eagles, we should make every play a pass, including our run plays. I am not kidding. Have you seen an Eagles game? What do we have to lose? We are freaking 1-7!

You have to go with your play makers. Just compare Bowe, Chambers, Long, Wade, and Bradley at WR and then compare Smith, Charles, and Savage at RB. We have better play makers at WR than RB. Don’t give me this crap about our O-line, I know our O-line sucks, they can’t run or pass protect. Here is my game plan for the rest of the year: throw to Bowe, throw to Chambers, throw to Long, and repeat. Are seeing my point?

P.S. Get rid of “I cannot block and I cannot catch” Sean Ryan. He is pissing me off. He cannot be that better than Brad Cottom. So much for my vacation. I have to get back to work. Ugh!

“Lenny the Cool ” Dawson always says time after time during his broadcasts that rebuilding doesn’t and shouldn’t mean losing. Herm and his ilk had be snowed in that area, Not anymore. Anyway right on JH when everything is gone anything goes!

Chris Chambers raised my eyebrows this week. Good pick up.

And yeah I agree that we should open up the offense from here on out. I wanna see passes, reverses, flea flickers, fumblerooskies, hook and ladder plays, statue of liberty plays, wildcat, fake punts.. you name it, it’s worth it. If we can’t hope for a playoff appearance then let’s at least try to generate some excitement and a couple more Ws.

I couldn’t agree more JH. We waited until 3 minutes to go to start throwing it down field. I was at the game and recorded it at home. After watching the game on TV, I must say Cassel’s bomb to Chambers was perfectly thrown. Also the 2nd TD to Chambers was in pretty tight coverage and once again on the money. He did have one major over throw to Bowe early in the game, but I believe it is all about the rythym. Cassel and his recievers never get the opportunity to find rythym because we always have to run it up the gut 2 of the 3 downs for no gain, a loss, or maybe a couple yards. Quit pussy footing around and air it out. You said it perfectly, throwing swing passes to Jamal with his speed would actually be perfect. I also agree with your point on Ryan. Let’s develop Cottam and sit Mr. Ryan. He was great out of the gate but not much for stamina.

I agree completely!!! We have nothing to lose at this point. Also, knowing that we have a crappy o-line right now we should throw more quick slants, quick hook plays, swing passes, etc. The quick throws will work the best knowing that the o-line has to only block for 3 seconds or so, instead of long bombs where 5-10 seconds are needed of blocking.
