Lets give it up for Mike Brown ladies and gentleman. Missing tackles and blowing coverages. Giving up Td’s and running terrible angles. Wait… didn’t we already have a safety like who we released, what was his name, Pollack or Pollird?

But hey, did anyone see the Texans game, that safety was all over the field, 9 tackles, 3 assists, 2 Int’s. You would have to be an absolute moron to release a guy like that…..

    Ohhh wait.

He is no longer a Chief, If you love Pollard so much run out and buy your Texans gear…

No, Tim’s 100% right. What did Mike Brown ever do to get the nod and Pollard the heave? Pollard had his share of broken plays, but at least he made up for them. Brown has been great at making sure every team we play feels like their offense is the greatest show on turf. Even Jamarcus Russell looks good against Mike Brown.

Haley/Pioli have made several terrible mistakes so far, and cutting Pollard (our defensive MVP) was about as bad an idea as I’ve ever seen. Hope Brown gets Eric Berry’s autograph on his way out the door, because he’s gone if we draft Berry (and we definitely SHOULD).

Slack JAW, its actually on my list of things to do.

Quiz, Taylor Mays! Berry might be the better choice in terms of skill but you can’t pass up on Mays’ athletic ability. Not sure if you have played madden recently but we need speed guys and lots of them. Drafting Mays will give me a chance in madden.

Slack JAW, I’m completely with tim here.

Pollard shouldn’t have been released. He’s a good safety and was the leader of our secondary. Mike Brown isn’t much good, and I’m guessing any good numbers that he’s had in his career up to this point are a product of the Bears defense he was on.

Just because Pollard isn’t a Chief anymore, we can’t wish that he was? Am I supposed to just accept everything Haley and Pioli do just because their the guys in charge of my team? With that kind of mentality, you may want to look into a cult. I hear they’re looking for that people like that.

Haley isn’t a good head coach, and I have a pretty big suspicion that Pollard was released because of his hit on Tom Brady. Pioli is probably bitter. Why else would a good NFL talent be so randomly released like that? Pioli waited until a couple games in instead of doing it right away so it wouldn’t be so obvious. It may sound like a conspiracy theory but think about it.

Quazzimoto: I would LOVE to see Eric Berry in a Chiefs uniform.

Tampa won a game today. Is it now the fight for the #1 draft pick?

The only silver linings I have for todays game was only 1 penalty and the guys were fighting hard late in the game. Beyond that, I ain’t got much.

Garrard isn’t a sprinter and Mike Vrabel couldn’t catch him several times. The D made Garrard look like Peyton Manning.

  7. 7. Slack JAW Says:

I think you are missing my point. In no way am I saying they should have gottin rid of Pollard ,But they did and to watch Texans games just to see how Pollard does is a waste of time. He`s not coming back .

  8. 8. Quazzimotto Says:

    Tim,

I’ve been high on the Mays band-wagon for awhile, he’s an uber gifted athlete. I think it was 102 that mentioned Eric Berry in an earlier post. So I decided to try to catch some of the Vol’s games and after watching Berry in action I’ve gotta hand it to 102, I think he’s right.

Berry is extremely talented in coverage, he’s an even better tackler than Mays (crazy good), and he’s only .2 seconds slower. He’s compared to Ed Reed on a daily basis by all sports authorities alike. A young Ed Reed would be an insane boost to our safety starved team. I still like Mays, and I won’t be upset if we draft one or the other, but my hat’s tipped toward Berry right now.

I don’t think its really “watching” Pollard so much as it is his stats speak for themselves and those same numbers speak against our current Head Coach and GM. Haley hasn’t done a great job in year one, and Pioli’s acquisitions have been far from glorified. We’ll see what happens next year, but if they can’t make some solid pick ups in FA and flub another draft, I don’t see this team progressing anywhere.

  9. 9. bbq Says:

Eric Berry is a younger version of Ed Reed in coverage and Brian Dawkins when he lays a lick. He’s phenomenal, and I have no doubt that he’ll be a star on Sundays.

To give some perspective on this guy, Tim Tebow’s first pick was thrown to Berry, who then returned it some 96 yards for a TD. He’s a force that makes a good defense great.

slack JAW: I personally haven’t been watching Pollard, but his situation is just one of the many very unfortunate developments of this season. It’s just hard not to notice his success with his new team and feel at least a little bitter toward Pioli and Haley.

I’m way more bitter about Pollard than I am about Tony Gonzalez, because Tony has been a fantastic Chief for many years and deserves to play for a good team. Pollard was a young, talented player that made our defense better. Just for some perspective on my feelings on the matter, in case anyone cared.
