A couple of websites are reporting that the NFL wanted Larry Johnson’s punishment for recent outbursts and behavior unbecoming a well lets say Kansas City Chief to be much less severe than what the folks at One Arrowhead Drive actually imposed.
As per Nancy Gay of AOL’s Fanhouse.com
” The NFL told the Chiefs they should avoid issuing a suspension (and encountering the subsequent hearing, NFLPA involvement, settlement, etc.), and simply fine Johnson $10,000.”
Larry of course wound up losing more than $300,000.
No matter what you think about Larry’s detention, its obvious that KC ownership and management went above and beyond to deal with the current LJ situation.
SOUND OFF ADDICTS! DID KC DEAL WITH IT PROPERLY OR STILL A SLAP ON THE WRIST?

This situation would have been dealt with properly if he would’ve been given his outright release. Does anyone in this organization have a spine??? A slap on the wrist….please! Let’s bring this bum with diminished skills and even worse attitude right back to suck and embarrass this organization again. Do you think a team like the Colts, Saints, or Steelers would put up with his crap? They’d kick his ass right out of town. He fits in with Chiefs team concept perfectly! We can make these silly petitions until we’re blue in the face, this team doesn’t care what the fans think. We’re going to be losers for a long long time. As long as they keep filling that stadium up and people keep shelling out their money, nothing will EVER change. The Hunt family should hang their heads in disgrace.
No remembers when LJ carried this team on his back with 400+ carriers in a season. I have to defend LJ, but come on no one else in that locker room was brave enough to call our Haley. I doubt Matt Cassel would do it nor would Vrabel…
P.s. benching DJ reminds me what Al Davis did to Marcus Allen for years at Oakland.
