Larry Johnson Suffers "Twitter Meltdown" and Reportedly Hurls Slur at Media

Posted by: Randy5k-Arrowhead Adventurer

Multiple sources (check out Adam’s spin on the situation over at FanSided.com) describe a “Twitter Meltdown” by our running back Larry Johnson after yesterdays stomping the Chiefs suffered courtesy of San Diego. After careful study of the linguistics used by Mr. Johnson it appears he feels that Coach Haley suffers from a lack of actual on-field experience that Larry’s dad has benefited from. It could of course be argued that Larrys dad can’t boast the Superbowl appearance as a coach that Todd Haley lists on his resume’, not to mention the fact that Larry’s dad coaches at the institution famous for producing “The Penn State Curse”.

In breaking news, multiple news sources report that Larry also hurled a grossly inappropriate slur at news reporters.

WHADDAYA THINK ADDICTS? FAIR COMMENT OR MISPLACED FRUSTRATION?

I hope this gets him a spot on the bench! I think it’s horrible that he will end up having the most rushing yards as a Chief. He is a woman hitting little cry baby and I am sick of his shit!

  2. 2. juili68 Says:

#27 and Blackouts, or #25 and filled seats.

  3. 3. Randy5k Says:

Yeah but Larry’s daddy played for the coach from “Remember the Titans” Shane!

He is really killing us in trade value at this point. How great would it look if Pioli would have been in office prior to the Jared Allen trade. At that time we prolly coulda got the same value for LJ and now we would have a stellar defensive end. I would like to see Charles out of the backfield in two weeks however I doubt that will happen. Charles looks like he is hitting the holes harder and before they close. He might just be the shot in the arm we need. Cassel needs a better run game cause opposing defenses are pretty much pinning their ears back and rushing at least 7/8 of the time and then having LBs cover the running lanes.

Larry Johnson is a piece of SH#T. I have personally supported him over the last few years or so and will no longer do so. Things around here are incredibly tough, and he is not the type of person who can handle adversity. He is an immature little baby. Dick Vermiel was right. He needs to take the diapers off.

Cut him, no matter what the cost. Go with Savage and Charles for the the rest of the year. We have so many freaking holes losing Larry does not make us that much worse. We are completwely incompetent as a team now. The last thing we need is a malcontent.

  6. 6. Double D Says:

I guess I’ve got a slightly different take on LJ’s tweets. Clearly what they say is that LJ has very little, if any, respect for Todd Haley as either a “football guy” or as a coach.

Okay, so LJ is bitching out loud, true to form. If I were Todd Haley, Scott Pioli, or even Clark Hunt, I would be less concerned about LJ saying something like this and a lot more concerned about how many of the players are thinking it.

  7. 7. vbchief Says:

    Thats exactly my thoughts D.D.

maybe they should call chan gailey back and relieve haley of his play calling duties. Every week it is the same old lame ass plays, a quick out, a run that goes nowhere. on 3rd and 10 or 12 most of the time.

I want to believe this is supposed to be the right direction, but they sure are making that very hard. I just dont get it!!

  8. 8. BILLY Says:

    I agree with D.D.

It looks like to me on the sidelines that Haley has no clue what is going on with the game. Charles should be running the ball and Savage and hopefully Smith backing him up. LJ has not ran the ball since he got his big money deal. Im tried with only getting players that got cut from the PATS and the CARDS. The rest of the games this year we should be tring players out to see what we have for next year for the draft. JUST MY 2-CENTS.

  9. 9. Randy5k Says:

Oh come on ! Look what a coach that had years of experience playing did for us! Just watched the HALEY news conference on kcchiefs.com, Haley sidestepped the LJ controversy completely. I take that as something pretty severe is going down. DD as a coach you would be more concerned about what the players think than what LJ does when he pulls this crap? Thankfully I think what separates KC from teams like Dallas and the Raiders is our ownerships refusal to tolerate that kind of disrespect.

  10. 10. Merlin Says:

    DD:

You hit the nail on the head, again. We need a new article from you!

  11. 11. Randy5k Says:

YEAH DD we need to hear from you.

  12. 12. Jeremy Hanson Says:

Yeah DD, Merlin and Randy we need more artcles from you guys, plus I will be leaving for vacation soon and will be gone until November 9. I will be out of the country and away from the internet. I won’t be able to post my usual dribble.

  13. 13. Randy5k Says:

LARRY TO APOLOGIZE OH GOOD WHEW

  14. 14. Merlin Says:

    Randy:

He may apologize, but you can’t unring that bell.

  15. 15. cclary Says:

I say suspend him for the rest of the season. Put in the quicker backs that can actually run through a hole when its there.

Pendegrast should be gone next year. We need to make a strong push for Romeo as our DC.

If you look at Haley’s face during the game it looks like he has no clue of what plays his team is capable of running. It’s like I don’t want to confuse them so lets run this one again. How many so called trick plays have the Chiefs ran this year. I bet you can count them on one hand.

  16. 16. tim Says:

    hahahahahahahahahaha.

Good point Tim! you were so right Tim! Your amazing Tim!

    Thanks guys, really appreciate it.

  17. 17. Jeremy Hanson Says:

Ahh Timmy; we love you here man. What are you going to do when we become a winning team again?

  18. 18. tim Says:

haha, not to sure Jeremy, not to sure. :P

Who can guess what Haley’s handicap is?

Cantcoachalitis. Its a terrible disease that effects the logical part of the brain. Very sad, as its incurable.

  19. 19. sideburns85 Says:

WHEN IN DOUBT, fire LJ. It’s one of the many rules in life I live by ;)

  20. 20. Randy5k Says:

You will be as happy as all of us when it turns around Tim.

  21. 21. AFRob69 Says:

Maybe this is what this team needs to fire up the coaching staff. Why haven’t we fired the offensive line coach yet? Maybe the Chiefs can talk Will Shields into coming in and coaching these lineman. Pioli needs to be on the phone trying to hire someone to call plays. Haley has to much on his plate to worry about that, and i think that is our biggest detriment to date. He doesn’t trust his players to run anything but a few set plays. If they hired a coordinater then Haley can concentrate on things like Larry. Now as for Larry i say fine him $200k but play him the rest of the season and give him the DAMN ball to try to increase his trade value then dump his sorry ass after the season. He makes way to much money to just cut and i think he still has something left so why not get something for him, and use it to improve the team. We all know he is a punk and is going to embarrass you in some way. I just think it would be a waste to not get anything for him. If anyone out there really thinks keeping him is going to be a detriment to this team, have you watched them play they can’t get any worse can they? And i don’t see them getting much better without him, so why not keep him and try to get soemthing for him in the offseason when teams who are close to a championship might over pay a little bit for him. i.e. New England!!!

  22. 22. matthill82 Says:

AFRob, I agree that it would be great if we could get something for LJ, who is likely NOT going to be at Arrowhead next season regardless, but I think we’re missing the other side of the ‘trade value’ coin.

Simply running LJ this year to pad his stats and ‘boost his value’ is not sufficient to make this guy attractive to other teams. We have seen other ‘troublemakers’ leave one situation and succeed in a new environment: Randy Moss, Corey Dillon, Keyshawn, etc. The difference with LJ is that he’s not simply frustrated by the Chiefs situation, he’s a walking, talking negative headline. Whether it’s misdemeanor charges for assault (real classy, Larry), or whining to the media during his holdout (which Carl pandered to, to the sum of $19 million in guaranteed money ($45 with incentives).

I’m not saying that a team won’t take a flyer on him, but they know that LJ has no home in KC anymore, so what’s their incentive to pay us top dollar? If he’s going to be cut eventually anyway, why not just wait?

I know that the same argument was made about Trent Green, and we ended up with a 5th rounder for him, but Green was a stand-up, classy guy.

At this point, I’d like to see some integrity from our front office and simply cut him. It’s not about the money or production loss. For me, cutting him now would send a message to the fans that the ‘new’ ownership, new GM and new coaching staff are TRULY going to run things differently, and that this kind of behavior (not just calling out the coach via Twitter, but using slurs and taunting fans about his salary) will not be tolerated in KC.

I’ve been a chiefs fan since I was 7 years old. For the first time in 18 years, I’ve been considering the possibility of leaving the Chiefs, primarily because of the way they handle (or don’t handle) situations like these.

Which brings me to DD’s point about whether or not Larry is simply voicing what other players in the locker room are thinking. While I recognize that as a possibility, (who wouldn’t be frusted on a 1-win team), I’d be less concerned about short-term frustration and more concerned about the culture we’re creating. If this type of behavior only elicits a ’slap on the wrist (or the pocketbook), I’d look for less unity in the locker room on the whole.

I’d rather cheer for a losing team with integrity than a winning team with none.

Right now, the Chiefs are a losing team, and the integrity piece is up in the air, IMO.

I hope they do the right thing, not necessarily from a business standpoint (remember, we have the most cap room of any team in the league, and next year is likely to be an uncapped year – the money’s a non-factor)…do the right thing for the fans, for the organization, simply based on human principles that we can all ascribe to: honesty, decency, and tolerance.

  23. 23. sthall20 Says:

The only problem with feeding LJ the ball more this year is that he is not getting any yards. He looks slow and like he doesn’t wanna be here. This is gonna make his value drop because teams like NE are not gonna want a crybaby on their team. They want football players, thats why they can take guys like Welker and make them superstars.

    AWESOME AWESOME POST MATT HILL
