It Feels Good, Doesn't It?

WE WIN!!!!

It has been quite a while, but we did it. Unfortunately, I am terribly swamped at work to day, so I do not have the time to go into depth about the win, but you can. Here are some questions to get the discussion going:

Can/will we build upon it? What good things did you see? What bad things did you see? How did you feel after the game? Wasn’t good to see Haley smile? Trade scenarios?

In reflecting on my position before the season, I thought we would beat the Raiders and get swept by the NFC East. Then taking the Chargers at home going into the bye at 2-5.

Actually, I like the way this is looking better. The Haley talk has been all about progression and thats really what we have here. Initially I was worried about the mentality of the team after slogging thru the NFC East part of the schedule. But you have to admit, as a team they haven't given up. In each game you could point to a part where they could have given up and just went thru the motions until the clock ended it. That didn't happen.

While the Giants were working them over they fought back and only got beat by 11. The Giants pounded the Bucs 24-0 and the Raiders 44-7, and only beat the Cowboys by 2.

I think this was a hard learned lesson, don't give up. They had 2 penalties against the Redskins and no turn overs. Ok, we had no touchdowns, but we also had no interceptions against the then ranked #5 defense in the NFL. It may have been an ugly win, but it was good football. We didn't beat ourselves.

If we can do that, what else can we do? In the progression, what's next?

Definately some bright spots on D. I know the Redskins O line is as horrible as ours, but I think it gives our guys much needed confidence. It's obvious we have four great looking long term players on D!(Dorsey, Hali,Flowers, & Williams) I hope to see more from Jackson though. He just needs time. The offense is however still looks anemic. I PRAY we bolst up the O line in the offseason. The WR, RB, & QB positions would obviously look much better with time to actually set up a play.

I think it's disappointing that we still can't seem to find the end zone.

One thing I have been noticing... and I could be wrong... but Brian Waters - week after week I've noticed him getting beat again and again. I could be wrong, but after he gets beat, he just stops - Cassel is a scrambler... he has avoided plenty more sacks than he has taken - what if Waters doesn't stop after he's beat one of these times and gives Cassel a running lane... Just a thought.

I didn't see much light out of this game. I think it was good to finally get a win, but we still have a lackluster running back, a weak receiving core, and a subpar offensive line.

I did like McGraw in the secondary... I've always been a fan of his and wanted to see him get more snaps on defense - I don't think he let anyone down this weekend.. I say keep him in, see what he can do against the Chargers.. give Page a run for his money....

Feels great, I'm in the DC area so me and both my boys were sportin our red today. We always do anyway, but it was particularly gratifying this week.

Yeah I never thought Sanchez would make it, but he has had his moments. I don't think he has what it takes to be successful in the long term. I expect to see him struggle for most of the remainder of this season.

HA I didnt think that was a flub Jeremy I thought you meant it as they beat themselves. Anyone else think that Sanchez's career is developing like Ryan Leafs?

nice kcdan58. lol.

But the Raiders beat Oakland every week and year right?

Sorry about the flub.

Jeremy, I love it when the Raiders beat Oakland...can't get enough of it! ;)

I hope this isn't blasphemous, but I can't root against Tony G. I will gladly accept our last pick in the 2nd round from ATL if it meant Tony got his ring.

As far as this team. I think it is very tough to get back onto the bike after crashing time after time. Now that our lil Chiefs have learned to ride a two wheeler, lets see how their attitude changes next week. If we come out against SD happy we with our one win and revert back to the all too familiar ways, we are in very bad shape. But if we come out with chips firmly placed on our shoulders with something to prove, that is a team I can get behind.

Randy: Accuscore was a mixed bag. It said if Portis had over 4.0 yards a carry then Skins would win, he had 7.2 avg. It also said if LJ had over 75 yards rushing Chiefs had a better chance of winning, he had 83.

Ashley: You are right, the Raiders beating Oakland was a shock. I would get violently ill if the Raiders swept us. Keep em coming.

kcdan58: I was thinking the same thing, we cannot be in the top five draft picks and have any flexibility. That is why we need, TB, STL, OAK, Cle, and the other bottom dwellers to keep losing. We also need Atlanta to take a dump so their (our) second round pick is near the top and not the bottom.

It feels great to get a win. I think it will pay dividends for this team. I have no illusions that this team will finish a .500 team or anything, but I believe this teams has been working hard and now has motivation to continue.

Looking down the road, I think it is critical to get ourselves out of the top 5 spots for the draft and give Pioli a chance to to do some wheeling and dealing.

My hope for this team for the rest of the season is to not lose anymore games they 'should' win and to steal a win from a team they 'shouldn't'.

Woot!

So great to get a win. We need to get this train rolling before it's Raider time again. I saw they beat Philly and the last thing I want to see is us getting swept by them!

how did the accuscore stack up?
