toma Says:

"I sometimes think the fans are over their heads. They have many forums to say what they want with no accountability. They are hidden behind their computers and will say anything for the shock effect."

I agree. The "fans" called for the firing of Herm last year. And now we are stuck with the Toddler. After the Chiefs go 0-16 those "fans" are still going to be claiming it was the right decision.

I think that Haley sees something that is not up to his standard and wants to make a change. We are not at the practices to see how coach ward works with the receivers and to see if he is a good receivers coach. I think it was a good move. If you watch the games even when Cassel has a little bit of time to throw it looks to me that the receivers are having a difficult time getting open. I think a little better coaching might help that part of the game.

dbk: Whole new staff. First time he's assembled an entire staff. Team is poor and lost every game so far. Go easy on the guy. He's changing things as he sees reason to change them. Some of us questioned his choices early on (I didn't know enough to question them), and most of those choices that were called into question have since been un-made. Not a huge deal.

I'm still stickin' by my "Chiefs are a .500 team that can sneak into the playoffs if they get some breaks; otherwise, they finish somewhere in the 6-10 to 10-6 band." Heh. Pretty much impossible to hit the high end of the prediction, but I'm stickin' by their being basically a .500 team +/-, depending on whether they catch some breaks.

I think the Broncos are going to hit the wall, here soon. Big as the New England win seems, it was a squeaker and New England is NOT the dominant team of a couple years ago.

I'm just worried that in 3 more games, I'm not even MATHEMATICALLY in it, as far as my prediction of a .500 or better season went. I can still suspend my disbelief (I'm pretty obstinate, ya know...) for a little while longer.

toma,

What I hear you saying is that when things do not go well, the fans should just shut up and take it. Or perhaps show no interest at all?

Besides, why should fans be held accountable for anything? After all, they're the ones being asked to cheer on and financially support the show that One Arrowhead Drive is trying to sell tickets to, right? And if the performance is bad . . . ?

If I go to a restaurant and the food and/or service are terrible, should I just hold my tongue, pay my bill, and tip my waiter 20%? What message does that send to the owner and staff?

BTW......There is no way in hell this team is winning four games. Dallas had key turnovers, tons of penalities, and played as bad as they could play and we still couldn't beat them at home. There isn't four wins left on the schedule for the Chiefs.

Haley hired these people and then quickly fired them. So he is either a bad judge of coaching talent or overreactionary. It makes him look like he doesn't know what the hell he is doing either way.

The 4 are:
Washington
Oakland (cause that shit ain't happenin' twice)
Buffalo
Cleveland

If we could beat the Chargers at Arrowhead before the bye, that would be HUGE! Going into the bye on a 2 game winning streak could change the rest of the season.

I agree. If an 0-5 team (any 0-5 team) goes into FedEx Field and comes out with a win, Zorn is probably done. But his fate was sealed when he went to work for Snyder. Like working for Al Davis or Jerry Jones.

A real surprise for me was how well the Broncos have been playing. The Chargers are a solid team as well; we still have to play both of them twice. Also the Bengals, whom are playing like they actually have a team, are much improved. So that leaves the Raiders in Oakland and the Bills and Browns.

Personally I'm hoping for 4 wins this year instead of the 6 I called for in preseason. I made this adjustment after demoting my opponent evaluator.
