Those of you who read my posts know that I’m a regular game attendee. For nearly three years I’ve attended every home game, even dragged myself to the preseason fiasco’s. On Oct 25nd, that streak will come to an end.
Besides being a KC Chiefs fan I’m also a pretty decent muskie fisherman. This year a conflict arose between the Oct 25 game and a muskie tournament I regularly fish. I recently won a tournament, and with the Chiefs losing record decided that muskie fishing seemed more productive for that weekend than dragging myself to another game.
So the streak ends. Not a big thing, and its a decision with multiple positives such as relieving the pressure of feeling obligated to attend, as well as less posts (about the game day fun) which hopefully will lead to a fresher content. I’ve every intent on attending the rest of the seasons home games.
The end of my streak brings a question to mind, I wanted to air it with my fellow Addicts.
The NFL figures reflect that something like less that 2% of team fans actually attend a game each year. But one thing I have learned is that the one message fans can send that the ownership hears loud and clear is an empty stadium.
Thus the delimma.
I’m currently on board with Jeremy, I think we are going in the right direction, but:
What do you think Addicts? By attending every game even during the depressing last two Herm Edwards years, was I showing support for my beloved team, or was I sending a message to ownership that I was fine with the current cluster bang?
