He was cut by New England, who performed their OWN right tackle search this spring, because O'Callaghan missed 2008, after a(nother) shoulder injury. Looks like he has a shot, but this doesn't look like a sure-thing cure to RT ills. Nevertheless, NE fans assure me that this was a very good player when he was healthy, but his shoulder forced NE to go in another direction, and he was beaten out. But I like the looks of this cut-down and I see LOTS of upgrade material for the O-Line that could start bearing fruit by Week 3, and maybe even sooner. I'm not sure if they'll go with Cassel, Croyle, or Thigpen Week 1, while this O-Line is still being sorted out. I can almost see Croyle starting, with Thigpen to bring some shake-n-bake to the red zone. Thigpen might have that kind of role with Cassel starting, as well. In this last off-season we have been getting killed in the stats department and they go and ruin our 2 biggest weapons. Thigpen and Pollard.
