I like it, too. But Pioli’s not shown any interest, as far as I know.

Sounds like Jones has been handling himself quite well, recently. That’s a good sign. Doing MORE than he has to.

Plax or Jones kinds of decisions might not happen until and unless the Chiefs have secured a baseline team culture.

I would definitely bring in Matt Jones under a contigency deal. If he’s truly got his shit together, then he could help this team hugely. Think about it, on top of the reasons that Adam mentions remember he can also line up for the wildcat. Imagine being a DC and trying to figure what to do on a play where Jones and Thigpen are in the formation and either one can toss/catch the ball. And who’s covering Cassel?

I like this idea. A lot.

No reason to consider Plax. He hasn’t even been sentenced yet, meaning there’s a good chance he won’t even get to play this season. I wouldn’t touch him if our best receiving option was Samie Parker.

But Matt Jones is a stupid idea, too. Yeah, THAT’S what we need. A cokehead who will probably never fulfill his potential. No thanks.

Meanwhile, Marvin Harrison is still out there, as well as a few others.

Jones would be a great addition considering the cost and reward for sure. Plax? The clubbing gun-toter who’s only around because he shot himself instead of somebody else? When he goes off the wire again do you want to give him the chance to do it here?

Plax is another “Pac”man. When these guys “make it rain” they bring the suffering and pain along with it. Just look at Aaron Cudworth the bouncer who was shot in the chest, or Tom Urbanski the manager who’s now paralyzed with a bullet still lodged in his spine.

Just thinking outloud. Plax may be the better player, but Jones would be the better decision considering his potential, cost, and desire to keep his job. Something Plaxico hasn’t really thought too much about.
