This is so stupid because it's Herm that made it like that. He intentionally made us as young as possible and threw a bunch of rookies on the field. To act like it's not his fault is ludicrous.

Herm took a proud franchise and ran it into the ground. Hopefully Haley can fix his mess.

Very true zman, very true. Motivation is something this team has seemed starved of as of late.

And thank you very much parrothead! No shame in following the Pride either. It's a fantastic site that does do a great job in the uneventful offseason. Y'all should probably bookmark it if you haven't already.

Welcome to AA David. I hope you can bring this site back to what it used to be. It has really gone down hill!! Arrowhead Pride does a way better job covering the off season. I am not a hater.....just being honest. Obviously, I am still reading and commenting but.....heroin addicts take anything they can get!!

Jeremy - Exactly. His priorities were so beyond out of place.

Paine - While I do agree that he had a young team and gave them experience, I also think a blind monkey could do that. Just giving younger guys or even rookies any NFL experience makes them loads better. He did a great job assembling a team of talented studs out of college, and simply couldn't coach them to save his life. Cases in point : Hali and Croyle. Both had/have amazing potential that Herm just couldn't cash in on.

Igorash - He could potentially host AND be a part of Follies. The two-fer. I think I'd Tivo that.

Not on the sidelines but in a studio? What studio would that be? Oh, I know, "NFL's Follies".

Welcome to AA David!

A lot of young players got a ton of experience playing last year, and although it was painful for us fans to watch our team "learn on the job," he did leave the team better in that sense. These players will be ready to battle for starting positions in camp instead of being handed the job by default because we "need to get younger." However, he did not take responsibility for the fact that his hands-off "let the players motivate themselves" approach turned our starting defense into the Replacements. I can't remember so many players getting hurt. The team showed up in the offseason fat and out of shape. Todd Haley is just what the Doctor ordered to turn this proud, storied franchise around. He will hold everyone accountable, including himself. Everyone on the team is starting over. He has no personal allegiance or obligation to certain players because he hand-picked them, like Herm did.Rest assured that whoever lines up in Baltimore earned their spot in camp.

His postgame press conferences last year were more of the same, pointing out that his team is the NFL's youngest over and over and that they weren't playing their gaps the way they were taught, excuse after excuse. I have heard other coaches man up and say "it's my job to get these guys ready to win, and I didn't do that." Never heard that from Herm. The world has a funny way of putting people where they belong one way or another. He belongs in a studio, not on the sideline as a HC.

A comment was made by Colquitt the other day about Herm that went sometihing like this: We had starters on Offense, Starters on Defense and if you didn't make it there the left overs were put on special teams.

That tells me everything about Herm Edward's coaching style. Even Gunther threw him under the bus.

Welcome David

Thanks a lot for the intro Adam!

And yeah, I think that's what's been nagging at me the entire time I've followed Herm: he doesn't seem to take much responsibility. Sure, he's said "blame it on me" every once in a while, but it never seems like he means it or applies that rule to anything that truly matters. He should DEFINITELY have gone down with the ship Woody.
