Should The Chiefs Take A Look At Travis LaBoy?
Per Rotoworld.com:
Cardinals released OLB Travis LaBoy
The Cards guaranteed LaBoy $7.5M on a five-year contract last offseason, so they’re taking a salary cap hit. They do have room to work with and needed the cash for Adrian Wilson, Karlos Dansby, and possibly Anquan Boldin’s extensions. LaBoy, 28, got off to a hot start with four sacks in the first four games last year, but ran into the same injury woes that dogged him as a Titan. He’s a very skilled pass rusher, but can’t stay off the shelf.
He has never played 16 games in his entire five-year career. But, Todd Haley and Clancy Pendergast have some experience with him.
(editor’s note: Maybe we should also look at ILB Larry Foote, who the Pittsburgh Steelers just released?)
Sound Off Addicts!

No
April 28th, 2009 at 7:09 pmThose two are way too young. Isn’t Derrick Brooks still out there? Is Seau still available to play?
April 28th, 2009 at 7:39 pmI think I prefer LaBoy’s game, but Foote’s consistency. Both would be better options than Leroy Hill, considering the cash he wants and his off-the-field stuff.
April 28th, 2009 at 7:54 pmIf we hadn’t al;ready pinned Thomas and Vrabel then i would be on board with Foote. But I would prefer the kid the Seahawks just unfranchised at LB. Now for our O-line, What about Levi Jones?
April 28th, 2009 at 8:16 pmLevi Jones seems like a bit of a diva to me. Not sure about him.
April 28th, 2009 at 9:17 pmSo do Crabtree, Boldin, and Edwards.
April 29th, 2009 at 12:21 amtrade for boldin-give up both 2nd rounder next year, pioli wants to win now and this move would give us a good shot at winning the west
April 29th, 2009 at 2:35 ampick up foote-28 year old, plays in 3-4,knows how to win, hasnt missed a start in 5 years, avg 81 tkl a year since starting.sounds like a pioli guy to me
sign levi jones-29 year old, stick him at RT, couldnt be worse than sackintosh
I think these three moves could win us the division
as far as O-line goes, i’m not real concerned about divas. i’d rather have madonna in there than sackintosh.
April 29th, 2009 at 6:45 amFoote said he wanted to play in his home town of Detroit. Ouch
April 29th, 2009 at 7:23 amYes to both if Laboy can play a 3-4…we need more live bodies on D and not dead weight.
April 29th, 2009 at 7:26 amLaboy would be a perfect bridge to next years draft. If he doesnt work out- draft someone next year.If he does work out- draft for another need, he is still young and we need another end with experience. I’m afraid the Dorsey to DE project will be a bust. This hinges on money and number of years we would need to sign Laboy for, of course.
April 29th, 2009 at 12:26 pmNo, go after Bolden, Arizona wants a 2nd round pick, trade our 2010 2nd rd we got from Atlanta and if they deny it give up our other 2nd round pick or 3rd
April 30th, 2009 at 2:46 amI went off on a different subjuect in my last comment, i’ll clear it up. Dont go after LaBoy because we already have Derrick Johnson, Zach Thomas, Mike Vrable, Monty Biesel Corey Mays (Cinn). We should go after a WR like Bolden instead…all we have is Bowe and Engram as our wideouts that are acutally worth a damn. Knowing the Chiefs and how poorly we did last year, its very likely that we will have a top 10 draft pick next year (hopefully its actually 32nd lol) so lets get a LB in the 2010 draft someone like Curry
April 30th, 2009 at 2:45 pmLaboy should be on the next flight to KCI.
April 30th, 2009 at 4:50 pmHe can help improve the anemic pass rush we have on a historically bad defensive line. Sign him up Scotty!
I agree with cassel4prez comment #7, its obvious that chiefs are in need of a WR, we got all the LB DJ, Zach and Mike….3 top LB’s…..Now will have a threat on offensive…Cassel Bowe and Boldin….sounds like a superbowl team
