Chiefs Reject Lions' Trade Offer

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Draft | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

Apparently, the Chiefs just turned down an offer for the No. 3 pick. The Lions would have sent the Chiefs the No. 20 and 33 overall picks in exchange for the top overall choice. Looks like they want Eugene Monroe to protect Matthew Stafford. Maybe we can get them to throw in a future third and get this deal done?

I’m also hearing that we might be able to move Glenn Dorsey to Atlanta for their first-rounder.

We’ll know more soon, but things are heating up…

    Updated info from PFT”

“Contradicting a report from Mike Lombardi of NFL Network and National Football Post, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel has not signed a six-year contract extension that includes $36 million in guaranteed money, according to Peter King of SI.com.”

“King reports that two NFL sources say “there’s no truth,” to Lombardi’s report with one source asserting that “no substantive talks,” have taken place between Kansas City team officials and Cassel’s agent.”

“King had previously reported at the NFL owners meeting that Cassel’s representative, David Dunn, was miffed that the Chiefs hadn’t taken action to modify Cassel’s deal.”

“Cassel is currently assigned a one-year, $14.65 million franchise tender.”

where do people keep ‘hearing’ about the Dorsey trade??? SITE YOUR SOURCES PEOPLE!

  9. Adam Best says:

No need for CAPS (= yelling). First off, AP reported about Dorsey earlier today. Second, I received a couple e-mails about it from good tipsters. Nothing absolutely concrete. That’s why we classified it as a rumor from the start.
