The possibilities are intriguing, redbeard. As it comes down to the wire, and you hear talk of "player x is rising" or "player y is falling," you realize how starry-eyed these pundits and (hopefully) owners and gms are. To say that a player is rising or falling at this late date is to say that a lot of professional talent evaluators and pundits really haven't done their homework! Lots of room for draft day glory for somebody smart.

If Malcom Jenkins fell to us after a trade-down, especially to the early 2nd, he'd make sense.

Maclin, Robiskie, and numerous others look like good players, too, but I'm leery of spending a 1st round pick on any of these guys, even though I'm almost certain some of 'em will emerge as quality starters.

Took that Arizona offense a long time to adjust to what the Pitt D was doing. The aggressive style of D is very much a dice throw, and over the course of the game, you're going to give up a few, but if you calculate the odds to a nicety, you have your best shot at optimal defense for the 60 minutes. And the fact was that the D DID have the hats in position, and Roethlisberger simply took the Steelers on his shoulders. I think the Arizona D played it right pretty much the whole game, but the Arizona offense took far too long to find the open RB in the flat, and FINALLY force Pittsburgh into an adjustment. Not the best game-time coordinating on offense, and possibly underlying Boldin's blow-up. But don't get me started!

The only #3 I'm particularly interested in is one of the OTs, Monroe or Smith. Might be interesting to have two starting-caliber LOTs - an embarrassment of riches. Hopefully, someone will be desperate (read "stupid") enough (Don't put it past Snyder - a move that hadn't occurred to me until reading this board.), to want our #3.

Thing is, you don't make poor man's choices at left offensive tackle if you want to dominate, and Brandon Albert is NOT Jake Long, even if you think Albert can hang. We can prob'ly live with Albert, but if there's one thing these top 5 picks are FOR, it's gotta be the left offensive tackle of your choice!

After that, it's WR and (imo) CB. And NONE of the WR/CB prospects is THAT GOOD! Is Crabtree good? Sure. Did he dominate undersized and slower CBs? Yeah! Does that mean he's going to dominate in the NFL? 50-50.

Unless there's a CLEARly dominant WR/CB, you just draft and sign in FA as many as you can, and make 'em fight it out. Tell everyone you're looking for special teams, so nobody notices all the DBs you have...

Buffalo with T.O. and Tony G and two No. 1 picks isn't a contender? That offense would be ballistic. They just signed Dominic Rhodes, too. I like Trent Edwards. Think that kid can play. Guess everyone forgot him carving us up last year. Plus, they have a great coach. One of the best in the game if you ask me.

Adam:

Ugh. Two major thumbs down. "the only guaranteed superstar in this draft class"??? What a crock. There are no guarantees.

I hope Haley remembers the super bowl and how the defense lost it for them. I wouldnt mind seeing Taylor if he wanted to play and not dance.

Also guys we need to take a look at WR Jesse Schmidt I played with this kid and he is a beast 6'3" 225 sub 4.4 forty and jumps crazy style. Right now he is playing AF2 with the Quad City Steamwheelers with Arena 1 not going check him out!!!
