Sims was a disappointment. But he scouted as a smart, hardworking guy. And he did look pretty good in some highlight reels.

Being kind of a shrimp, I KNOW that those big guys don't think the way I do. I'll work hard just to keep UP. Winning approval is tougher for a shrimp than it is for a gifted big man. My yippie little puppy-dog ways are annoying to big, self-confident guys like Sims, who've probably been embarrassed a time or 3 in the verbal arena by guys like me who can ONLY win in THAT arena.

And I know what a fool Gunther Cunningham can be. If a big man doesn't buy into what you're saying, motivating him is next to impossible. Especially if the big guy has his retirement plans already in hand.

It seems like the guy's cheating the fan, maybe, but NFL history is replete with players who earned next to nothing and beat their bodies to hell. You're only as good as your last play, as far as the NFL is concerned. For a college kid to grab the brass ring, and walk away with a pocketful of cash seems kinda cool, now that I'm in my 40's, after a lifetime of hard work and I only WISH I had been smarter earlier! I look up to Ryan Sims (in more than one way!).

Sims was probably just mad that he had to get off the bench. He may have just been looking for a soft place to lie down.

Anyone remember the game this season against the Bucs? Ryan Sims jumped on the pile after two Bucs (not surprisingly) tackled one of our players (LJ I think). I've never seen Sims move so fast as he did when he ran over to jump onto that pile. It occurred about 3 seconds after the original tackle, and no penalty was called. This is Ryan Sims.
