Here’s what Brian from Phin Phanatic e-mailed me back about ex-Dolphin and new Chief Zach Thomas:
So Zach Thomas has decided to sign with the KC Chiefs after a 1 year stint in Dallas huh? The good news is that the “Little Engine” doesn’t know when to quit. The bad news is that maybe he doesn’t know when to quit. Last year, Thomas made little impact on the Dallas defense and the year prior, his last in Miami showed less. Still, he has to be accounted for.
Thomas has a non-stop motor that many incoming rookies only wish they had. He still will play through injuries and take on RB’s twice his size and half his age with bone crushing enthusiasm.
Thomas will be paired with Mike Vrabel his enemy from New England. It’s not surprising that the Chiefs signed Thomas considering Scott Pioli has seen him twice a year for what seems like forever. The Chiefs have a good player in Thomas and yet another veteran leader, but if the team is rebuilding, they just slowed the development of younger LB’s. For one year though, Thomas will be exactly what they hope for…a no quit tackler who will lead on and off the field.
Again, this is someone who has watched Thomas extensively over the years. Plus, over the past two years and change I’ve come to respect his opinion as well. He knows the game, and he especially knows his Dolphins.

Does anyone see Dorsey going bye bye too for a first round pick with LJ tied onto it just to get rid of him? Isnt he too big for this 3-4 defense?
Something is going to happen. Has anyone noticed that they keep bringing in these possible draft picks that will NOT be around in the second round and dang sure not going at #3. I look for the Chiefs to trade down their #3 “IF” Stafford is still around by the time the Rams select their #2. If Lions get Stafford then we will get Curry.
With Stafford gone the #3 will lose its value.
I like the idea of bringing in THomas to be a teacher. Johnson needs something…and we need Johnson to be what everyone thought he was going to be!
