TLH Chimes In On Zach Thomas

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Happy Easter! Check out what Dan from The Landry Hat had to say about ex-Cowboy and new Chief Zach Thomas:

The Dallas Cowboys brought veteran Zach Thomas on last year hoping he could become a leader in the locker room, but as most Cowboys fans found out, no one was able to take the reins of that team.

Thomas still had 95 tackles for the Cowboys, with a third of them solo. But he lacked speed and that hurt the Cowboys in the run late in the year. But at his age, Thomas still proved he has some juice in him, but he no longer can be relied upon as the chief tackler, no pun intended, for any team.

No earth-shattering revealations there, but it is nice to hear from someone who actually watched him play all of last year. Expect a vlog from me on an interesting scenario the Thomas signing could lead to and a note on Thomas from Brian at Phin Phanatic soon.

  1. 95 tackles is still a lot for the old man. (I am 37 by the way, lol)

Signing Zach Thomas is reminiscent of what Pioli did in New England over the last couple of years. Fill the team out with youth and speed on the D-line and in the secondary. Fill the linebacking corp with experience (lots of it).

I would be surprised if he played more than one year. I don’t hate this move.

I believe Spioli knows what he is doing….
