March 5th, 2009 at 12:48 amOakland always pays people for what they have done in the past…they make it too easy….
I would put my money on oakland too…
March 5th, 2009 at 12:54 amJust an idea but Dallas needs a WR. We send D. Bowe to Dallas for DE Jason Hatcher,LT Doug Free (back-up),RB Tashard Choice and Dallas’ #69.
Trade Waters,LJ and our third next year to Buafflo for their #11 overall. Trade #11 down to #24 Atlanta (they need DT) pick up their second #55,third #90
R1 #3 LB Aaron Curry
R1 #24 WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
R2 #55 DT Fili Moalo
R3 #67 C Eric Wood
R3 #69 OG Herman Johnson
R3 #90 WR Louis Murphy
R4 #98 LB Gerald McGrath
R5 #131 DE Kyle Moore
R6 #162 CB Joe Burnett
R7 #193 LB Josh Mauga-Nevada
I would sign WR Lance Moore (give up next years 2nd)
March 5th, 2009 at 2:33 amDon’t ever suggest trading D. Bowe to Oakland that is just cruel
March 5th, 2009 at 4:42 amThat will be like icing on the cake for the Faders. Or maybe like a fly on a turd.
March 5th, 2009 at 7:46 amWell…he didn’t suggest D-Bowe to Oakland, Krans…so youre good…
March 5th, 2009 at 8:48 amT.O. in Oakland… let the REAL whiney ass silver and black attack start.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:14 amT.O. over the middle
T.O. deep
T.O. on the hook route
PUNT
T.O. arguing with Cable on his apparent misuse on the side line…
Re Moore, assuming there was any interest, I really don’t see how we would be able to get him. Per the terms of his tender, we’d have to give up a 2nd round pick. Last I checked, we don’t have one of those and even if N.O. was willing to settle for our 3rd round pick, we’d end up going into this draft with no 2nd or 3rd round picks in a year when we have several important holes to fill. Putting yourself into that kind of situation for a #3 receiver is beyond stupid.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:23 amWell logic might say that after moss and walker Oakland wouldn’t even dare. However, the raiders seem like that stupid baby who is always grabbing at pots of boiling water. What they really need to pick up is a UFA Babysitter.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:07 amIf anyone suggests trading Dwayne Bowe again I will Puke!
T.O will self implode even more in Oakland when he realizes that Jamarcus cannot get him the ball.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:11 amBowe is good, could be great, but we have many holes that he could help fill. I would take Lance Moore,Heyward-Bey,Murphy and Bradley as a receiving group. We gain a OT,DE and a RB that averaged 5.1 a carry. We also gain a OG through the draft from Dallas. We loss Waters,LJ and Bowe. Break it down,, I would trade LJ for Choice. I would trade Waters for OT Free and #69 pick. I would trade Bowe for a starting DE and #11 pick.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:39 amThe thought of trading Bowe makes me almost as sick as the thought of trading Allen did last year. Come to think of it I still feel awful about that trade althought it probably went as well as it possibly could have.
March 5th, 2009 at 11:40 amLance Moore would cost a 2010 second, DD.
March 5th, 2009 at 12:17 pmStill a waste Adam.
March 5th, 2009 at 1:18 pmDouble D,
Something must be done to fill these holes. Dallas is low on picks, so they will have to trade players. On the surface this might look bad, but the DE, OT and RB would upgrade three positions. Lance Moore is not a third receiver. We had a third receiver last year, Franklin-Get my point.
Pioli better get something accomplished on the two lines or this time next year we will be calling Curry a bust and wondering if Cassel can stay healthy.
We currently do not have anyone who is a given on the D line. If Waters holds out or leaves then we need three O linemen.
Again a receiving group of Heyward-Bey,Lance Moore,Louis Murphy and Mark Bradley looks better to me than: Bowe,Bradley,Franklin and Webb (?).
An Oline of LT Alberts,LG Herb Taylor or Rudy,C Wood,RG H. Lohnson,RT Free looks better.
Tashard Choice is really good!
Last point Lance Moore would have caught that onside kick!
March 5th, 2009 at 5:03 pmTrading Bowe would be foolish. He is going to be a really good player someday. Not great, but really good. His value is not as high as it will be in a couple of years. That is the difference between the trade with Allen. Allen was traded when his value had peaked. And “Lance Moore would have caught that onside kick!” is about the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.
March 5th, 2009 at 5:45 pmSo when someone gets good like Bowe, we should trade him to get more picks and backups? That is the Royals syndrome. Until recently everytime a Royal showed promise people would scream for the team to trade him for prospects. Good teams don’t trade their best young players for picks and scrubs.
March 5th, 2009 at 6:47 pm[...] T.O. = To Oakland – [ArrowheadAddic] [...]
March 5th, 2009 at 6:48 pmKC Mizzou,
To disagree, without offering a solution is childish and small minded. If you think that Cassel and Vrbel are all this team needed, after going 2-14 then just sit back and hope for 4-12 in 2009. All impact FA’s are gone and we no longer have our high second rounder!
Bowe is a slightly above average receiver in the NFL,if you think that he is more than that then you are being a homer. Their are more than 20 better receivers in the NFL. And Lance Moore is about his equal.
Someone mentioned the Royals. The Royals would keep Bowe for 7-8 years believing that “next year” he will just wake up and turn in A.Johnson,Steve Smith or Brandon Marshall. I would do the trade as noted above: we get RT,DE,RB and OG (draft). And they are all young players. I believe Dallas would do the deal!
March 5th, 2009 at 7:45 pm“Bowe is slightly above average”. The guy is has almost hit 1000 in his first two years, on a run first team with no QB. Get real. Have you seen a bowe catch? It is usually him that MAKES that catch happen. “Equal to Lance Moore”. Let’s revisit this convo in 5 years when bowe is a perenial bowler and no one knows who the hell moore is.
March 5th, 2009 at 9:08 pm2383….Good post…
Ditto
March 5th, 2009 at 9:31 pmdbk301,
I never said that we should trade Bowe. My comments were merely intended to defend why we should not trade Bowe NOW. I don’t want us to trade Bowe. I have a man crush on the dude.
102win,
All I am discussing with you is whether we should trade Bowe or not. I never engaged in conversations on how to improve the team. The reason that I did not come up with a solution for improving the team is because that wasn’t the purpose of me posting. All I wanted to say was that I don’t want us to trade Bowe. I’m sorry that, at the time that I posted, I didn’t want to talk to you about ways to improve the team. I reserve the right to take the time to talk about what I want, when I want. It does not mean that I am childish and small minded. It means that I’m an adult and I had large amounts of things to do. I apologize for the any inconveniences that I may have caused you. If you would like, we can set up an appointment to discuss our improvement ideas. Thank you.
March 5th, 2009 at 10:40 pm2383,
I just have a different option on Bowe’s skill level. He does make some great plays, however he had a TON of drops. We were not a run first team! We were not a good running team at all. I will call you on your bet. I am not saying Bowe sucks, I think he is good, I think Lance Moore is good as well. Due to our current position, I feel we have to explore everything available.
KC Mizzou,
I will try to ignore most of your banter and simply offer an explanation. First,it is a little irrational to belittle posting on a topic, while posting on a topic yourself?????
It is simple, would you trade Bowe to Indy for Manning,Wayne and Freeney? Of course anyone would! So much for your well thought out argument. Childish may have been harsh, similar to silliest and foolish, but harsh all the same. As far as small minded, refer to the Indy point.
9 out of 10 NFL receivers would have caught that onside kick. It should have been more of an eye opener for all Chief fans. I guess if it lost a game that mattered, we would have heard more.
To sum it up, a good GM would never exclude anyone for anything.
March 6th, 2009 at 1:42 amIn bowe’s first year all we did was run. Last year that had to change a quarter way through for obvious reasons. And you said it yourself, we could not run the ball to save our lives. Do you think that opens up a passing game? Not likely. I am also going as far as to say Bowe is going over 1000 this year, while moore will not, even if he ends up having breese hucking him the ball again. This wadger is barring injury of coarse.
